Life outside the drive thru...

So last night I had a brief bit of independence. It was time to upgrade my cell phon.e After 2 years with my previous one, a freebie which wasn't much to begin with, and the fact that Elliot vomited on it about 3 months ago resulting in stuck and malfunctioning keys.... yeah, it was time. So, I was at Verizon Wireless here locally, got my new phone (an LG Voyager if you're wondering) - and decided to walk a couple doors down to get a coffee at Starbucks. Now, for me, when I'm out and about with the kids it's a huge treat to stop and get a coffee. Which typically means running through a drive thru. So last night I walk into Starbucks, go up to the counter to order, the "barista" asks me for my order and..... cut to Brannon staring at the menu like a deer in headlights. I totally had no idea what to do. It had been so long since I'd been inside one of these places, my brain just fizzed. I said to the lady "I'm sorry, I'm totally disoriented at the moment, I haven't been in one of these places in like 2 years, I ALWAYS use the drive thru." She laughed a sympathetic laugh, which put me just enough at ease that I was able to order. A grande decaf with two splenda, light with cream, and cinnamon powder on top. At which point she says "well, normally inside you fix all the cream and sugar and stuff yourself, but I'll gladly make it for you." Thankfully by the time I paid, left, took a sip and checked out my new phone all was right in the world - but how pathetic am I? Can't even order a cup of coffee like a normal person.
