Something shady in Stormville....

Lampshady!! Poor Elliot, he is scared of everything. Always saying "did you hear that?!?!", or saying that he sees things outside his window, etc. Shakes like a leaf sometimes. So yesterday when he came screaming to me telling me "Mommy, there's a FACE in the lamp!!!" I played it down. "Elliot, there is NO face in the lamp." "No, Mommy, Mommy come LOOK!!" I guess there was a high enough level of pleading in his tone of voice that I agreed. And when I walked in our room, this is what I saw!!! I gave him a hug and showed him that the lights from the mini blinds were making the "face." But we had a nice big laugh about it, and I figured I'd show you our mystery face from yesterday as well. :o)

Another list of stuff about me...

Oh what the hey, here's another one.

5 Things Brannon Has Tried to Like, but Still Can't Manage To

1. Goat Cheese
2. Josh Groban
3. Monty Python
4. The Princess Bride
5. Winter

Howdy doodle do...

Hello all. Well, we've gone from Indian Summer to New York Winter around here over the course of a couple of days. Ack. I suppose it was inevitable, but I'll be putting up a countdown to spring ticker soon! Anything to keep me sane.

Saw a great movie last night, Wall-E. We'd originally thought of taking the kids to see it in the movies, then heard that it was a bit dark for children. After seeing it, I'd definitely agree that it's not for the preschool crowd. But an enjoyable way to look at an important topic, and the movie definitely makes a statement without saying much at all. You'll understand that if you've seen it.

In other news, no, wait - there is no other news. Maybe I'll toss up a few little known facts about myself!

5 Things Brannon Used to Hate but has Grown to Love

1. the Blues (the music, not the emotional state)
2. Salt & Vinegar Potato Chips
3. French Onion Soup
4. SpongeBob Squarepants
5. Diamonds (yes, that's right, up until months before my engagement I swore I wanted a pearl engagement ring)

What about you all? Anything you used to hate but you've come to love? Feel free to post a comment and share!!

Greetings from the land of the lost...

Sorry for the posting lapse again. Busy last week, busy weekend, busy this week. But, stopping by to post here and change the poll.

Boys are all doing well - Riley is still enjoying school, Riley and Elliot went to library storytime yesterday with Nana and Pa and made really cute paper bag owl puppets which I'll try to photo. Liam is just a little chunk, but still cute and is starting to laugh and be more engaging. He also loves playing in his exersaucer which is good news for Mommy! He has also slept through the night twice in the last week, which hopefully means good things ahead.

Riley said something that cracked me up the other night. We had had company the night before and I made these meatballs I love to make that have spinach in them. Well, Riley made a face at them once he saw the spinach and declared them unfit to eat. I said "Really? Because everyone last night loved them, some people even liked them so much they asked me for the recipe." At that Riley decided to try them, and ended up eating them all. He then said: "Mom, these meatballs are DELICIOUS! Do you think I could have the recipe?" I burst out laughing. What a hoot, that kid.

The most trivial of trivia...

So as I was just looking at the two new kitchen sponges I bought today in the kitchen, I thought to myself: "That might be an interesting feature on the blog, little known facts about me." Not that I consider myself to be terribly interesting... but even those of you who know me well might not know certain things about me. So let me take a few moments to share some random tidbits about moi.
  • I have a REAL thing for kitchen sponges - I replace mine frequently and love buying stylish ones with fun designs
  • One of my favorite sounds is the sound of gravel popping under car tires
  • I can pick up MANY things with my toes
  • I had a miscarriage before Riley
  • I am a total sucker for plaid
  • I am also a total sucker for anything peach scented/flavored
  • For part of my mid-teens I was a total Beatlemaniac
And that's probably all you care to know about me at the moment, but I'll try and share some more soon!
